In order not to lose the UKR status, you must inform the Border Guard upon entry | PRO HR November 2023

2023.11.30

In order to avoid losing the UKR status due to leaving Poland for a period of less than 30 days, a Ukrainian citizen returning to Poland during border check should inform the Border Guard on entry in connection with the use of temporary protection and present the diia.pl document.

  • The UKR status can be recovered. If it is lost as a result of leaving Poland for more than 30 days, one should:
  • request an explanation from the commander of the Border Guard Post in which the questionable border crossing occurred, or
  • return to Ukraine and re-enter Poland declaring entry in connection with evacuation from the areas of warfare, or
  • apply for re-establishment of the UKR status at any Municipality Office.
  • If the UKR status has been lost despite leaving Poland for up to 30 days, one should apply for its reinstatement to any Municipality Office.

Reinstatement of rights under temporary protection takes place from the date of re-entry to Poland.

Loss of the UKR status does not affect the question of legal employment of a Ukrainian citizen in Poland.
