Juvenile workers will receive a wage increase | PRO HR September 2023

2023.09.20

As of 1 September 2023, the minimum wage for a juvenile worker is increasing by 3 percentage points.

A first-year student will receive a salary of not less than 8% of the average salary in the national economy in the previous quarter, effective from the day following its announcement. In the second year of study it will be no less than 9%, and in the third year 10%. The salary will increase as the average salary increases in subsequent quarters. The wage increase also covers juveniles undergoing an apprenticeship for specific work. After the changes, the salary will be no less than 7% of the average salary. The proposed salary levels are minimum amounts. The employer may offer a higher salary. If the employer seeks reimbursement of wages and social security contributions in connection with the employment of a young worker, it will apply only to the minimum amounts specified in the regulations.
