New leaves and exemptions and mandatory flexible work arrangements at the request of the parent of a child under 8 years old | PRO HR November 2022

2022.11.17

The draft amendment to the Labour Code includes an exemption from work due to a force majeure event, a new care leave and the right of an employee raising a child under 8 to request flexible work arrangements.

This may involve implementing an intermittent, reduced, or weekend working time system.

Under the intermittent working time system, the employee is entitled to a break of up to 5 hours, for which he or she retains the right to half pay.

The employer will have the option to disregard the request for flexible work arrangements only in justified cases.

The employer will have 7 days to respond to the employee's request. Failure to respond may result in a fine.
