2022 - the year of diversity and inclusion | PRO HR February 2022

2022.02.07

2022 will be for many employers a year of challenges associated with building a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Male and female candidates and employees look not only at the salary but also at the company’s organizational culture. It includes, among other things, our approach to work-life balance and our employer's values. Our diversity is a combination of a number of characteristics, so it is important that our work environment is inclusive of everyone, regardless of gender, identity, disability, ethnicity, race, social background or sexual orientation.

Providing a truly diverse and inclusive workplace doesn't just end with giving male and female employees space to define their pronouns. These are active efforts in many areas aimed at, among others, integration of people with disabilities, or providing equal opportunities for people from different minorities.

The challenge for 2022 will also be to prepare organizations for changes in the labour law that are related to the so-called Work-Life Balance Directive. Efforts aimed at ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace will be complementary to the obligations arising from the regulations implementing the Directive.

Providing a diverse and inclusive workplace will bring a number of business benefits to employers, such as engaging with contractors who share the same values, or attracting / retaining high-class professionals and retaining experienced male and female employees.
