The changes are to be introduced in October 2022. This follows from the updated legislative work list of the Minister of Family and Social Policy.

No information has been made available as to whether previously issued “simple work permits” for Russian citizens will remain valid or whether they will be cancelled. In the latter case, employers will have to ensure that regular work permits are obtained immediately. 

Restrictions will also include exclusion of Russian citizens, who can currently  receive seasonal work permits without prior labor market test.

In addition, the previous possibility of obtaining a work permit for Russian citizens performing nursing and care work or as home help for individuals in a household without prior labor market test will also be excluded.
