Founding member and the first Chair of the Employment Committee of the Warsaw Bar. Katarzyna has more than 20 years of experience in broad HR and employment law. She represents Polish and international clients in employment disputes.

She advises on workplace transition processes, adaptation of global procedures to the requirements of Polish law, restructurings, group dismissals, hiring and firing of employees.

Her clients include companies from the pharmaceutical, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, FMCG, media and IT sectors.

She is the author of numerous publications on HR law. She conducts workshops and trainings for HR professionals and lawyers specialising in labour law. She is the supervisor of the School of Labour Law Champions.

She is highly regarded by the international rankings of The Legal 500 EMEA and Chambers Europe in the field of employment law. 
 

Doctor of Juridical Sciences / Head of the Krakow Office.

Dominika heads the personal data protection practice. She has over 20 years of experience in advising international corporations and domestic clients on labour and HR law, employee data protection, protection of personal rights in employment with an emphasis on mobbing and discrimination.

She is experienced in developing draft versions of company’s internal sources of law and negotiating their implementation with trade unions, running compliance audits in line with legal requirements and business ethics, as well as implementing the ensuing recommendations.

For over 10 years she has been an Adjunct Professor in the Chair of Labour Law and Social Policy at the Jagiellonian University. She is a well-regarded lecturer at the Jagiellonian University’s post-graduate studies in Labour Law where she lectures on personal data protection in employment, discrimination and selected aspects of collective labour law.

She is the author of a number of academic and popularizing publications in the press and books on labour law and data protection, and a consultant to many legal magazines. She conducts training sessions and workshops, in particular for top management, and members of anti-mobbing commissions.

Łukasz has nearly 20 years of experience in HR law.

He advises on collective employment relations and deals with trade unions, including conducting collective disputes and negotiations. He has vast experience in implementing, negotiating and terminating collective agreements and other social agreements, as well as employee guarantees.

He conducts workforce reorganisations, including collective redundancies, voluntary leave programmes, and other forms of downsizing.

He created and developed the Employee Capital Plans practice, and introduced a social insurance pillar.

Łukasz is the head of the “Going Paperless” program, which aims to digitise HR processes.

His clients include companies from the retail, energy, logistics, TMT, and pharma industries. He is the author of many publications in the trade press.

Łukasz is ranked by The Legal 500 EMEA international ranking in the field of employment law and white-collar crime. He is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association.

Head of the Employment Tax Practice.

She has over 25 years of experience in employment tax advisory. She specialises in personal income tax and social security matters with a special focus on global mobility of employees into and outside of Poland.

She advises Polish and international clients on optimisation of employment costs for board members and senior executives, as well as on tax planning structures for engaging employees in Poland.

Moreover, she is experienced in assessing tax consequences of employee share plans and taxation of capital gains.

She is an author of numerous publications on Polish and international employment tax and social security issues.
She is a lecturer at seminars and workshops in Poland and abroad. She is a frequent speaker and organiser of webinars on employment taxes.

She previously worked for a Big Four firm.

 

Head of the Business Crime and Compliance Practice.

Janusz has over 15 years of experience in managing complex, high-stakes business crime matters and internal investigations. He advises and represents corporate and individual clients in investigations and prosecutions by law enforcement authorities, including domestic and multi-jurisdictional cases.

He blends years of litigation practice with in-depth knowledge of how corporations operate, and the liability borne by top management.

More recently, he has been dealing with high-profile, corporate internal investigations, concerning allegations of fraud and corruption (commercial and public) in companies from the financial, media and wood industries . Moreover, he has been advising corporate and individual clients on white-collar prosecutions related to allegations of commercial and tax fraud and abuse of trust offences, as well as  on compliance and remediation programs to address detected irregularities.

His unique area of expertise concerns offences committed in the workplace, i.e. related to health and safety, as well as relations with trade unions.

He serves as an expert witness who gives evidence in British courts regarding the Polish law and justice system.

He is a member of the International Bar Association (Senior Vice-Chair of the Criminal Law Committee), the European Criminal Bar Association, the European Fraud and Compliance Lawyers Association, and the Extradition Lawyers Association. Since 2010 Janusz has been a judge at the Warsaw and National Bar disciplinary bodies (lawyers’ professional liability).

He is highly regarded in international rankings, such as Chambers Europe and The Legal 500 EMEA in white-collar crime, and Who's Who Legal as a Thought Leader and Global Leader in Business Crime Defence and Investigations.
He is a speaker and organiser of conferences on the many aspects of criminal liability. Author of Polish and international publications regarding criminal law.

In 2010 the Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded him with a second-degree award for academic achievement. A member of the Editorial Committee of the Monitor Prawa Pracy magazine. Legal adviser. Lecturer in Legal Advisers’ Training Program organized by the Regional Association of Legal Advisers in Warsaw. Author of numerous studies, articles and glosses, including books entitled “Employing Management Board Members”, “Transfer of the Workplace to Another Employer”, “Different Forms of Employment”, “Dismissals Due to Reasons Unrelated to Employees” (co-author), “Employer’s Risk” and “Public Service Law” (co-author). Co-author of a commentary to the Labour Law Code by L. Florek, issued by Wolters Kluwer (commentary to the Working Hours and Employee Leaves chapters).

Head of the Immigration and Global Mobility Practice / Doctor of Juridical Sciences / LL.M.

Michał specialises in all aspects of employing foreigners in Poland, including implementing the most effective practices. In addition, he advises on the international mobility of employees, complex issues related to corporate immigration at all stages of people planning and hiring, as well as the posting of workers to provide services abroad.

His expertise covers all cross-border HR aspects. He supports clients in coordinating and implementing all of their national and international HR requirements.

He is an author of many publications and comments in scientific journals and newspapers. Michał is a member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the American Bar Association.

Head of the Employment Litigation Practice.

Piotr is a specialist with over 10 years of experience in litigation and pre-court disputes in all areas of labour law with a particular emphasis on employment termination, remuneration, non-competition, workplace injury, mobbing and discrimination issues.

In addition, he advises and represents clients in collective and trade unions disputes, layoffs and restructuring. He develops procedural and litigation strategies, dismissal plans, including identifying and developing selection criteria for dismissals of groups of employees, drafting the documentation related to collective dismissals, as well as participating and supporting clients in the communication process with employees’ representatives and trade unions.

His other areas of focus range from establishing and terminating employment relationships to shaping working conditions, including the drafting of remuneration rules.

His clients include the largest international and Polish companies from the TMT, banking and finance, pharmaceutical and aviation industries.

He is an author of numerous publications on labour and HR law.

 

Tomasz has over 16 years of experience in the field of employment tax. He specializes in personal income taxation, in particular in respect of income derived from intellectual property rights, income earned by cross-border workers and employee benefits.

He is experienced in implementing costs effective remuneration structures for executives and employees. He drafts employee posting policies and procedures as well as develops tax equalization reconciliations. He has also developed or reviewed thousands of Polish annual tax returns filed by cross-border taxpayers.

Tomasz is an author of many publications on Polish and international employment tax and social security issues. He is a lecturer at seminars or workshops and a speaker at webinars on employment taxes.

He previously worked for a Big Four firm.
