Releasing an employee from the obligation to perform work

Undoubtedly, employers are free to unilaterally remove an employee from performing work during the period of notice.

This is also possible in agreement - however, the employee must agree to such an exemption from the obligation to work. Most often this is governed by one of the provisions of the agreement terminating the employment relationship.
