New information obligation – notification concerning the occupation code to the ZUS Social Insurance Institution | PRO HR May 2021

2021.05.06

Payers will have a new information obligation to meet for the ZUS Social Insurance Institution as of 16 May 2021. When submitting the paperwork to insure an employee, employers will have to state the code for the occupation to be performed by the insured.

The updated ZUS ZUA and ZUS ZZA preprinted forms will contain a 6-digit occupation code. It will be mandatory to state this code when filing the paperwork for new insureds. Previous filings will not have to be corrected.

Information concerning the occupation performed may be used for statistical purposes. The reasons for absences related to diseases, for instance, will be analyzed on this basis - depending on the occupation performed, the ascertained extent of the inability to work - in correlation with age and the occupation performed, or the amount of the benefit.
