Businesses may apply for additional forms of support under Shield 9.0: grants, financial support for remuneration, exemption from social security contributions and idle time benefits.

Businesses may apply for additional forms of support under Shield 9.0: grants, financial support for remuneration, exemption from social security contributions and idle time benefits.

To take advantage of the selected form of aid, businesses must satisfy several conditions. Among them, they must do business as of 31 March 2021 labeled with a specific code under the Polish Business Classification System (PKD) as the prevailing type of business, they must have recorded a decline of revenue of at least 40% in one of three, one of two or in one month preceding the month in which the application is submitted (depending on the type of support) versus the revenue generated in the previous month or in the corresponding month of the preceding year or in February 2020 or in September 2020. 

This subsidy may be obtained by micro and small businesses as many as five times depending on the type of business. The local superintendent (starosta) awards support of up to PLN 5 thousand to be used for a firm’s current operations.

Businesses may also obtain co-funding to cover their employees’ remuneration from the Guaranteed Employee Benefit Fund (FGŚP). The monthly benefit is PLN 2 thousand towards the remuneration of a single employee considering the amount of working time and is awarded for a total period of 3 months. 

The idle time benefit is awarded to businesses and persons operating under a civil law contract in the amount of PLN 2,080. It may be applied for five times. 

An exemption from social security contributions was also introduced for March and April 2021.
