ONLINE WORKSHOPS | Organizing effective remote work for employees

The work on the draft amendments to the Labour Code on remote work is prolonged and the date of their entry into force is unknown. However, remote work is – and will remain for a long time – a daily routine for many employers. 

How to organize it in order not to expose oneself to risks in the face of sparing  legal regulations? 

During the workshop we will focus on the practical aspects of remote work. We will talk about the current problems associated with it, and share our experiences and observations. We will give advice on what to watch out for and what to avoid while working remotely. 


Workshop programme


During the workshop we will discuss:

  • What form of remote work to choose?
  • How to effectively implement it?
  • What should we pay attention to?
  • What are the most common mistakes concerning the remote work regulations?
  • Controlling a remote worker – how to do it, what is allowed to the employer, how far can the control go?
  • How to manage a team of remote workers? How to communicate? What should you watch out for?
  • Overtime – how to control it?
  • Health and safety – what are the practical risks and how to avoid them?
  • Protection of personal data in remote working conditions – what should you remember?
  • Proposed changes in employment law regarding remote work – how to prepare for them?
  • Remote working from abroad – legal, immigration, insurance and tax issues. What to look out for and how to cover the biggest risks?

HR directors, HR managers and employees, directors and board members.


Cost of participation


The cost of participation is 900 PLN net. In case of participation of two or more people from the same organization, the cost of each additional person is 800 PLN net.

The cost includes:

  • participation in the 3h online workshop
  • two-week access to the workshop recording 
  • presentation with additional script referring to the discussed topics

Participants are encouraged to send questions and cases from their own practice. Selected issues will be included in the workshop topics. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during the workshop.

We reserve the right to cancel the event. In this case, the participant will be informed 3 days before the date of the workshop.

Speakers

Edyta has been advising Polish and international employers on almost all aspects of individual and collective employment law for more than 10 years.

She supports clients with, among other things, the establishment and termination of employment contracts (including in particular key managerial employees), settlement negotiations and internal investigations, employee transfers, and the implementation of internal policies and regulations.

For more than 5 years, she has advised one of the world's largest employers on collective labour law, including negotiations with trade unions. She also coordinates international projects in cooperation with IUS LABORIS law firms from other jurisdictions. 

Her clients include companies in the financial, pharmaceutical, services, IT, technology and entertainment industries, as well as foreign embassies and international foundations.  

She conducts workshops and trainings, also in English. She has authored publications in the media and trade press.

Michał specialises in all aspects of employing foreigners in Poland, including implementing the most effective practices. In addition, he advises on the international mobility of employees, complex issues related to corporate immigration at all stages of people planning and hiring, as well as the posting of workers to provide services abroad.

His expertise covers all cross-border HR aspects. He supports clients in coordinating and implementing all of their national and international HR requirements.

He is an author of many publications and comments in scientific journals and newspapers. Michał is a member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the American Bar Association.

Head of the Employment Litigation Practice.

Piotr is a specialist with over 10 years of experience in litigation and pre-court disputes in all areas of labour law with a particular emphasis on employment termination, remuneration, non-competition, workplace injury, mobbing and discrimination issues.

In addition, he advises and represents clients in collective and trade unions disputes, layoffs and restructuring. He develops procedural and litigation strategies, dismissal plans, including identifying and developing selection criteria for dismissals of groups of employees, drafting the documentation related to collective dismissals, as well as participating and supporting clients in the communication process with employees’ representatives and trade unions.

His other areas of focus range from establishing and terminating employment relationships to shaping working conditions, including the drafting of remuneration rules.

His clients include the largest international and Polish companies from the TMT, banking and finance, pharmaceutical and aviation industries.

He is an author of numerous publications on labour and HR law.

 

Tomasz has over 16 years of experience in the field of employment tax. He specializes in personal income taxation, in particular in respect of income derived from intellectual property rights, income earned by cross-border workers and employee benefits.

He is experienced in implementing costs effective remuneration structures for executives and employees. He drafts employee posting policies and procedures as well as develops tax equalization reconciliations. He has also developed or reviewed thousands of Polish annual tax returns filed by cross-border taxpayers.

Tomasz is an author of many publications on Polish and international employment tax and social security issues. He is a lecturer at seminars or workshops and a speaker at webinars on employment taxes.

He previously worked for a Big Four firm.
