In the book, we comprehensively deal with accidents at work and accidents equated to them from a legal perspective.

We discuss the components of the definition of an accident at work. We focus on practical problems, such as the possibility of recognizing a heart attack or an incident caused by the employee's insobriety as an accident at work. We also describe COVID-19 infection as a possible accident at work.

We present the employer's obligations related to an accident at work. Likewise, we indicate the actions that must be taken by the employer in the event of the employee's death. We describe the accident procedure and the content of the accident protocol.

A separate chapter of the book is devoted to an accident at remote work and telework. We answer the questions when an injury sustained at home can be considered as a result of an accident at work, how to conduct an accident investigation and what solutions and rules should be introduced in connection with remote work.

We also deal with accidents equated to accidents at work. We discuss, among others, an accident that took place during a business trip or while performing tasks commissioned by trade unions operating at the employer.

We present the principles of the employer's liability for an accident at work. We discuss the types of claims that the injured employee or his family may file with the employer in connection with the occurrence of an accident. We also describe the benefits that these people may be entitled to from ZUS. We present the limitation of claims related to accidents.

Furthermore, we deal with procedural issues related to potential employee claims. We discuss the main motives of such court proceedings and the most common problems associated with them (i.e. questioning the accident protocol, releasing from liability or limiting it). We also raise the issue of limitation of claims.

The book is addressed mainly to specialists from HR departments, as well as members of accident teams.
