More micro and small entrepreneurs have a chance to obtain a grant from the head of the district authority of up to PLN 5000 for the current functioning of the company, and not just once.

The amended provisions on grants came into force on the 26th of April 2021 under the provision of the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of the 16th of April amending the Ordinance on support for business participants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

However, the institution of grants is not a new instrument. It was introduced on December the 19th, 2020 in Article 15zze4 of the COVID-19 special Law under the provision of the Law of

December the 9th, 2020 amending the Law on special solutions related to prevention, counteraction and eradication of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations caused by them and some other laws. 

The government has now made use of the possibility of changing the conditions for obtaining support by widening, by means of a regulation, the circle of eligible entrepreneurs, changing the content of the statements to be submitted and the deadline for submitting the subsidy application. Moreover, if a specific entity has already received a grant once, it may receive it again on the basis of this executive act, under certain conditions. 

The changes resulting from the amendment of the regulation include:

• increase in the number of grants possible for one entrepreneur - some will be able to receive it four or even five times;
• extending the circle of eligible entities by 17 new PKD codes;
• change of date of verification of PKD code (CODE LIST OF CLASSIFICATION OF BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN POLAND) - it will be evaluated on March the 31st  2021, instead of November the 30th, 2020;
• introduction of the possibility of citing a decrease in revenue obtained from activity in February 2020.
