Whistleblowing is an important control mechanism, strengthening protection of common market basic values.

Whistleblowers will be protected, they will be entitled to legal assistance and financial support. 

The irregularities detected may be reported either within the organization in which whistleblower acts or through public channels.

The Member States will have two years to adapt/implement domestic regulations, estimated entry into force – second half of 2021.
