New rules for submitting residence permit applications

MOS 2.0 — residence permit applications submitted electronically via a dedicated system — launches on April 27. One week later, on May 4, CUKR will go live, introducing permits dedicated to Ukrainian citizens holding UKR status.

What is changing?
Above all, the way residence proceedings are initiated. In two weeks, this will only be possible electronically, using a qualified electronic signature or a trusted profile. Applications will no longer be accepted by post or submitted in person at an office.

What will the process look like afterwards?
Once the application is submitted, the process will continue as before. A visit to the office and fingerprint submission will still be required.

Will it be faster and more efficient?

Probably not, at least not at the beginning. The Immigration Office will not use AI tools, and applications will be reviewed in the same way as before.

What should employers prepare for?

  • Distinguishing between cases covered by MOS 2.0 and those submitted under the old rules
  • Managing Annex no. 1 — in two weeks, it will only be possible online
  • Logging in via login.gov.pl using a trusted profile or a qualified signature
