The following people can request workplace adjustments according to the needs arising from the type and degree of disability:

  • Employee
  • Applicant participating in recruitment
  • Person undergoing training, internship, vocational preparation, or graduate internship

The form of a request for workplace adjustments:

  • An explicit request from a person with a disability
  • The submission of a disability certificate or a certificate from the doctor conducting medical examinations
  • Any credible and relevant evidence that shows the employee with a disability is encountering difficulties due to the workplace not being adapted to their needs

The employer’s responsibilities:

  • Provide necessary reasonable adjustments, which may include both material and organisational measures. For example, adapting the premises, workplace equipment, work time and division of duties.
  • Adjustments that would impose disproportionately high burdens on the employer are not required.
  • Adjustments that are sufficiently compensated by public funds are not considered disproportionately burdensome.
